Segway Safari Manchester
Nestled in the Cheshire Boarders in the Peak District a mere 25 miles south of Manchester is the new activity of offroad segway. If you’ve never heard of Segways, they are basically electric-powered personal transporters and in groups of 4-6 your group of hens can explore the countryside having huge fun into the bargain at this friendly well run site.
Your Manchester segway safari experience will vary in length depending on the size of your group. Testing your Segway riding skills to the max, the 160 acre estate is actually a privately-owned country house and working farm, so expect muddy tracks, weaving woodland paths and maybe even a few cows and sheep watching you curiously as you whizz through the off road estate.
Before you head off on the segway safari, you will have a full safety briefing, be shown how the controls of your segways work and then have time to get used to moving around and manoeuvring the segways. Once you’re feeling comfortable and all kitted out with helmet and body, knee and shin pads, you’re ready for the off into the wilds of the undulating Cheshire countryside.
The Bride does the first lap on the slalom pole course, followed by her bridesmaids on the other 3 segways, by the time the bride gets back from her lap the fourth Segway has just left so the fifth person then jumps on for their lap, each person is only waiting for about 2 minutes per lap, however as everyone is normally laughing their heads off at the others trying their best not to fall off the wait is not even noticed. Once everyone has done two Laps each on slow the machines are sped up and you go again. After the slalom course you head over to the new assault course.
Again everyone takes turns to do laps around the fun but challenging course whilst everyone waiting for their turns watch on as everyone tries to do the new see-saw and rope bridge. Again only a minute’s wait in-between goes.
Everyone then meets again on the 40 acre field where they all do rally races inbetween the woods and grassland areas, in relays again only jumping off the machine for a matter of minutes inbetween their turns.
Large groups are accepted and whilst other hens are off on the Manchester segway safari the remainder can wait at the on-site cabin. There is also a cafe on-site serving drinks and snacks as well as a picnic area and if you fancied watching something else the site is shared with a zorbing experience which people can view.
All hens must bring gloves and flat shoes with them and it is suggested you wear old clothes and so long as it doesn’t cause a safety issue fancy dress is welcomed.
Check out this video of a complete assault course circuit.
N.B Transport to the site from Manchester is not included within the quoted price – If you would like some help with transport please ask on enquiry.
Please also bear in mind that this activity is only available between March and the start of December and weight and health restrictions apply. The minimum weight to take part is 7 stone and max weight allowed is 18 stone. Unfortunately pregnant hens are not allowed to take part.
