Ten Top Transport Tips
Our helpful hints should you need them.
1. Everything in the city centre is within walking distance - it just depends how much time and energy you have got.
2. Trams tend to be quicker than buses.
3. Always buy a ticket for the trams as there are regular inspections.
4. Trams shut before closing so they won't be around for your trip back to your bed!
5. Taxis can be expensive with heavy traffic.
6. At the end of your night out use manned taxi ranks - there will be a queue but it's quicker.
7. Always check fares in taxis before you go anywhere to avoid high fees and unlicenced taxis.
8. Why use pay buses when there is a free shuttle bus service.
9. Check out transport info for your planned visits so you're well in the know.
10. Check our website before you come for news on any disruption.

Watersports for Stags and Hens in Manchester
Long gone are the days where you all have to sit on a coach and travel for hours out of the centre of Manchester where the action is at as the waters of Salford Quays and its watersports centre are only a short tram ride and walk away. Close to the location of the famous Manchester landmarks of the Lowry centre and Old Trafford are a series of quays which are a perfect environment for the beginners or pros amongst you. With that in mind we looked at what we could offer and have started with four activities with the possibility of two more exciting and fun options to follow.
Stag Sailing or Hen Sailing in Manchester

The first activity we are offering is Sailing. The small Dinghy boats as used by Olympic sailing stars like Ben Ainslie will provide you with something completely different to offer your stags and hens when you sit down to discuss that Manchester Stag Party or Manchester Hen Party activity. The Laser Pico boats can provide a beginner with a fun start to sailing or an expert the opportunity to tweak some existing skills. Hens or Stags you could continue the theme onto your night out and dress up as sailors or admirals.
Stag Kayaking or Hen Kayaking in Manchester

The second activity is Manchester kayaking. Whether it be a kayak expedition to see the sights and sounds of the urban landscape of Salford Quays like the final stages of construction of BBC's Media City or a game of kayak Polo this fun and easy to do activity is again something very different and fun to offer your prospective stags and hens on a Manchester stag weekend or Manchester hen weekend.
Stag Canoeing or Hen Canoeing in Manchester

The third activity is Manchester Canoeing. Canoes are open topped kayaks essentially and you can learn the basics and be paddling like an explorer in no time or again head out with your instructor to head around the quays on a canoe expedition. Why not get dressed up as explorers before you arrive? Stick the stag in a Ray Mears outfit perhaps?
Stag Windsurfing and Hen Windsurfing in Manchester

The fourth activity is Manchester Windsurfing. Just because you aren't at the beach with sets of waves heading towards you doesn't mean you can't windsurf and the breezy nature of Salford Quays mean you can be up and running in no time at all. This one isn't for the weaker ones amongst you as getting up on your board takes some strength and persistence!!!
All activities are a set price for a group of a maximum of 8 people and last for 90 minutes to include 15 minutes safety and introduction briefing and 15 minutes to pack the gear away which leaves a solid hour on the water. All instructors are fully trained and the centre we used is also fully insured meaning a happy and wet day for all at the Watersports Centre.
Keep your eyes peeled for the arrival of Raft building and WOWBalls that are to come shortly. Check out the sneak pictures below.
