The Trafford Centre
Covering over 150 acres with 150,000 sq ft of retail, catering and leisure space, 10,000 free car park spaces and its own bus station the Trafford Centre has to be seen to be believed. Since opening in 1998 it has become a tourist attraction with over 30 million visitors each year.

Situated on the outskirts of west Manchester near to junctions 9 and 10 of the M60 motorway it is a little trickier to get to in comparison to the city centre shopping centres but with everything you can possibly need under one roof, for those that don't know Manchester and want to get some serious shopping in, it's ideal.

To reach it from the city centre you can go by tram to Stretford and get the Metrolink shuttle bus, in which case just look for the ‘Trafford Centre Shuttle Bus' button on any Metrolink ticket machine when buying your ticket. You can also get the Stagecoach 250 bus from Piccadilly Gardens out to the centre and back. Failing that and should you have a car with you, you can drive and use one of its free car park spaces.

It has over 230 stores, Europe's biggest food court "The Great Hall" - if you have time and money to spend it is well worth a visit.
