Manchester Hen Party Ideas From The Local Party Experts

At Stag and Hen Manchester we’re right in the heart of the city’s action, indulging at the latest restaurants, sipping on cocktails bars old and new and testing out new activities. We’ve got our fingers firmly on the pulse, meaning you get the kind of Manchester hen party ideas you can’t just read on the internet.

Read on for our tips on how to have an amazing hen party in Manchester.

The Nightlife

Manchester is known for its legendary music scene. The Oasis and Hacienda days may be over, but Manchester’s love of music continues on.

Like with any large city, there are different areas of nightlife to cater for different tastes.

For those looking for a sophisticated hen night in Manchester, then Deansgate and Spinningfields are your best bet, though we’ve done an extensive blog on where to go here.

If pure partying and fancy dress features high on your agenda, then Deansgate Locks and The Printworks are very stag and hen friendly and a very popular place for lots of our hen parties.

Those who love the more quirky and independent bars and clubs will love The Northern Quarter area and if you want a night away from sleazy men, then you could always head to the Gay Village.

Being local means we’re in the best position to team up with bars from each area of town, so why not head to our Nightlife Booths and Passes section for more Manchester hen night ideas?

Manchester also has much more to offer than just bars. There’s the theatre, top comedy clubs, bars that provide entertainment and a night out in one and much, much more. So if you want something a little bit more than a bar or club, why not check out our After Dark Activities section? Lots of our hen parties tend to opt for something different for the first night, followed by hitting the won and partying hard the section night.

Dining Out

Manchester outstrips London when it comes to foodie growth. The city is abuzz with dining options to suit every palette and budget and in the first half of 2015 alone there were no less than 30 new restaurant openings.

You can read more about Manchester’s restaurant scene here and we’ve blogged about the delights that can be found at Manchester Food and Drink Festival.

Dining out as a hen party can be a bit trickier, because some restaurants don’t take too kindly to large groups of hens, whilst others simply don’t have the space. We’ve teamed up with some of the best restaurants in the city centre that allow hen parties and you can see the options available here.

We’re all over local independents, like this tiki cocktail masterclass at a bar loved by locals and awarded Speakeasy Bar of the Year.

We always say think of the bride-to-be first and foremost but always keep in mind that she’s hardly going to enjoy her favourite activity if everyone else isn’t. To make things easier for trying to make a decision, we’ve categorised out hen party activities in Manchester into categories such as Hen Party Favourites, Hot Stuff, Relaxing, Alcohol Activities and Sporty and Active.  To see all the categories with an easy drop down design to see activities at a glance head to our Build Your Own Hen Party section to start putting together a hen party as unique as you deserve.

You can get even more ideas and inspiration on our blog, which is packed full of things like fancy dress themes, DIY ideas, downloadable hen party games and checklists.

Manchester is easily accessible by train, plane and bus.

Manchester has four main city centre train stations:  Manchester Piccadilly, Manchester Victoria, Manchester Deansgate and Manchester Oxford Road.

Manchester Airport is around a 20 minute drive from the city centre and there are regular trains connecting the airport to the city centre train stations.

Getting around Manchester is made easier by the overground tram line, The Metro, and also the free bus shuttle service. Find out more about the routes and service times by clicking on the links.

As you’re probably aware, it’s best to book plane journeys as much in advance as possible and train prices are always cheaper when booked 13 weeks out.

If you can stomach it, the Mega Bus is a great option for those of you on a budget. For example, you can travel from Manchester to London for £5 each way if you book early enough.

Book Early

One of our most popular options are hen party apartments in Manchester city centre like the above.

Manchester is the 3rd largest city in the UK and is immensely popular with weekend visitors and tourists alike. As well as stag and hen parties soaking up some of the best nightlife in the UK, you’ve also got the United and City fans, theatre goers, gig lovers and romantic getaway couples fighting it out for accommodation.

So  the earlier you book the better chance you have of securing accommodation, as well as making sure you get the best possible prices and accommodation in the heart of the city centre (because nobody likes waiting for taxis!).

We generally advise that stag and hen parties book their packages 3 to 6 months out, depending on the weekend they have in mind. Activities can generally be added a little later if you can’t make up your mind, though usually it’s best to book no later than 3 months out to ensure you get availability and the best times.
